Scope and Goals

The Workshops at the International Conference on Global Software Engineering (ICGSE) provide a forum for researchers and industry participants to discuss topics in global software engineering research and practice. The goal of the ICGSE Workshops is two-fold. First, they will provide opportunities for researchers to exchange and discuss scientific and engineering ideas at various stages of development. Second, ICGSE Workshops also serve as conduits to develop scientific communities around a particular topic and research agenda.

The following workshops will be collocated with ICGSE-2011:

9:00 - 9:10 Welcome

9:10 - 9:30 Muhammad Ali Babar (IT University of Copenhagen)

9:30 - 12:30 A roadmap for future software engineering research. What will SE look like in 5-10 years and what research is needed to reach that vision? We start with a few presentations from various research groups that might give input to the discussions.

The purpose with this session is to write a two page document presenting a roadmap for SE research the coming 5-10 years.

12:30 - 13:30 Lunch

13:30 - 17:30 Research proposals for upcoming calls

Proposal: We break off into groups to further discuss the roadmap. Each group writes up 3-5 paragraphs on their particular area. A few areas have been proposed; however, you can always break up into other groups:

You can take a coffee break whenever it fits you.

18:00 - 19:30 Evening reception with ICGSE. We start walking from the Grand Marina hotel at 18:00.

Registration

All participants, including workshop organizers, keynote speakers, and invited guests, must register for the workshop. See the registration page for details.

Note: Authors of accepted submissions to a particular workshop must register for the workshop by June 30th for their paper to be published in the proceedings.
